I'm Cyrus Chuang from Taiwan. I am a senior student at Minerva University, an innovative university that takes students to 7 cities around the world throughout 4 years to build cultural dexterity, tackle problems with local organizations, and explore different ways of living.

My design journey started off with creating powerful messages and visuals for social causes. From North Korean refugee center to tech for good startup, I have worked for multiple social justice initiatives as a communication designer. What took me from the world of crafting words and visuals to the world of building digital experience was a quote from the documentary Social Dilemma––
I am a product designer with the heart of an activist. I want my design to help people walk further and faster.
We are all looking out for the moment when technology would overwhelm human intelligence......But there's this much earlier moment when technology exceeds and overwhelms human weaknesses.
Seeing how much our digital environment is shaping how we behave around people and around ourselves, I decided to take a turn and channel my energy into creating empowering digital experience. With one digital innovation after another taking the world by storm, I want to participate in the movement that nudges these innovations to support humanity and inclusivity.

I am a product designer with the heart of an activist. I want my design to help people walk further and walk faster. I like working with people because faster feedback and alignment push me forward and give me more confidence over the strength of the design. I also like to learn new things and add different knowledge to my repertoire. Right now I'm building an automatic affinity mapping tool with machine learning for my graduation project.

Beyond design, I study history and data science at school, take pictures of street life and my friends, and write articles about the different ways of living I saw in the cities I lived in.
